Kybella is an FDA-approved treatment for eliminating the double chin. This safe injectable contains synthetic deoxycholic acid, which attacks fat cells in the area where it is injected. Kybella injections are completed in a series of multiple injections into the neck and chin area to dissolve the fat cells. Once the fat cells disintegrate, they are permanently gone, and the fat is absorbed into the bloodstream. Over several weeks, the chin area shrinks as the fat cells are diminished, creating a slimmer, more defined jawline, chin and neck.
Eliminate Your Double Chin
Targeted fat loss can only be achieved with cosmetic treatments. To slim a double chin, you need either liposculpture/liposuction or Kybella injections. We offer both at Vantage Plastic Surgery, but many of our patients like the convenience of Kybella injections. The treatment can be completed in a quick office visit, and there is no downtime or recovery needed. The chin fat dissipates over time, allowing the skin to tighten and reform to the chin and neck. Once fat cells are gone, they do not reproduce, so the results are considered permanent.
Kybella injections are best used in patients with good skin elasticity. The injections will only remove fat cells, not tighten the skin. Kybella injections can be used with other cosmetic treatments like skin tightening to improve the firmness of the skin under the chin and on the neck for a more youthful, svelte appearance. Those with excess skin and poor skin elasticity with double chins may be better candidates for a surgical neck lift with liposculpture.
